What is Paranormal Investigating? 

Being a paranormal investigator entails joining forces with a group of individuals who share a common fascination with the paranormal. That being said, you can investigate solo as i do often but i always inform someone of where I am.
While it may not always be obligatory, having a medium and researcher on the team can be advantageous, as they can offer valuable assistance when required. As an investigator, it is crucial to exhibit a cooperative spirit, setting aside personal ego and fully embracing the investigative journey. 

In the course of investigations, I often bring along a diverse range of objects as props. These items serve multiple purposes, facilitating communication with spirits and enriching the overall investigation process.

Sometimes, when playing back recorded audio, Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) can be detected as spirit voices.

EMF Reader:  
An EMF meter, also known as an EMF reader or detector, measures the electromagnetic fields generated by electrically charged objects. These readings are displayed on a graph, providing insight into the presence of electromagnetic fluctuations in the environment. 

Rempods:  
Rempods are devices designed to detect static electricity and energy disturbances. They emit lights and sounds when there is a change in the surrounding static levels, indicating potential paranormal activity.

The Estes Method combines a spirit box with sensory deprivation. One person wears a blindfold and listens to the spirit box through headphones while another person asks questions. The blindfolded individual shares any auditory information received through the spirit box.

Human Pendulum:

Pyromancy involves communicating with spirits through a candle flame. Begin by setting your intentions and grounding yourself while protecting your energy. Light a white candle and gaze into the flame for a few moments. Then, step back from the candle, positioning yourself at a good distance, such as sitting on a sofa, to prevent your energy from interfering with the flame. Start by asking simple yes or no questions and observe the candle’s response. You will intuitively understand a yes or no answer from the spirit. Typically, the candle remains still for a no answer and dances for a yes.

An individual who conducts investigations and studies in the field of paranormal phenomena. Their main role is to gather evidence, analyse data, and document occurrences of supernatural activity. They often use various scientific methods and equipment to investigate claims of hauntings, UFO sightings, psychic phenomena, and other unexplained phenomena. Paranormal researchers aim to understand and explain these phenomena through research, data analysis, and exploration of alternative explanations. 

Historian:  
A historian, in the context of the paranormal, is someone who studies the historical background and context of a location or event related to paranormal claims. They research and analyse historical records, documents, and accounts to gain insights into the people, events, and circumstances that may contribute to reported paranormal activity. Historians provide valuable context and help separate folklore or urban legends from historically significant events that may influence paranormal experiences. 

Demonologist:  
A demonologist is an individual who specialises in the study of demons, demonic activity, and related phenomena. They often have extensive knowledge of religious texts, folklore, and spiritual beliefs associated with demons. Demonologists investigate cases of alleged demonic possession or haunting, and they may provide assistance, counseling, or spiritual interventions to individuals affected by such phenomena. Their role is to assess and determine whether the reported activity is potentially connected to demonic forces. 

Medium:  
A medium is a person who claims to have the ability to communicate with spirits or entities from the spiritual realm. They act as a bridge between the living and the deceased, using their intuitive or psychic abilities to relay messages, provide insights, or offer guidance from the spirit world. Mediums may conduct séances, readings, or spiritual consultations to connect with spirits and relay information to the living. Their role is often to provide comfort, closure, or spiritual assistance to individuals seeking communication with departed loved ones. 

Tech (Technician):  
In the context of paranormal investigations, a tech or technician is responsible for handling and operating various technical equipment used during investigations. This may include cameras, audio recorders, electromagnetic field (EMF) detectors, thermal imaging devices, and other specialised tools. Technicians ensure that the equipment is set up correctly, monitor and document data, and assist in analysing the collected information. Their role is crucial in capturing potential paranormal evidence and maintaining the technical aspects of an investigation. 

Sceptics (Skeptics):  
Sceptics, also known as skeptics, are individuals who approach paranormal phenomena with a critical and questioning mindset. They often seek rational and scientific explanations for reported supernatural events. Sceptics play an essential role in the field of paranormal research as they challenge claims, evaluate evidence critically, and encourage rigorous scientific inquiry. 10 Essential Points to Consider Before Embarking on a Ghost Hunt 

1. Embrace company  
   Never venture alone when embarking on a ghost hunt. Bring along a few friends who can offer assistance if needed, while also providing additional perspectives to validate potential paranormal occurrences. 
2. Opt for accessible locations  
   Ensure the haunted site you plan to investigate is accessible to the public and has a history of reported paranormal activity. Trespassing should be strictly avoided, and obtaining written consent from property owners is advisable to prevent any legal complications. Always seek permission when exploring private properties. 
3. Preliminary daytime exploration  
   Visit the location during daylight hours to familiarise yourself with the surroundings. Take note of the specific areas where paranormal phenomena have been reported. 
4. Thorough preparation  
   Conduct thorough research on documented hauntings and the entities associated with the location. Dress appropriately, wearing comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing to ensure your comfort throughout the investigation. 
5. Invoke protection and guidance  
   Depending on your personal beliefs, say a prayer, meditate, or send positive intentions to the universe before commencing your ghost hunt, seeking protection and guidance. 
6. Exercise courtesy and respect  
   Approach ghost hunting with the same courtesy you would extend to entering someone’s home. Respect the spirits’ presence and intentions, clearly conveying your harmless intentions. Seek permission from spirits before taking photographs, and express gratitude for any responses or interactions. Kindly request that spirits do not follow you upon leaving. 
7. Trust your instincts  
   Pay attention to your intuition throughout the investigation. If you feel compelled to take a photo or sense an overwhelming urge to leave, trust those instincts as possible signs from the supernatural realm. 
8. Vocalise your intentions  
   Before departing the haunted location, recite another prayer aloud, expressing gratitude to the spirit world and requesting that nothing and no one follows you home. 
9. Leave no trace  
   Respect both the deceased and the living by leaving the location as you found it. Do not disturb or damage any property during the investigation. 
    

Concerns about encountering demons: 

It’s important to differentiate between spirits and demons. Spirits are often manifestations of human desires and emotions from their earthly lives. They may exhibit various behaviors, such as remaining unseen, being noisy or talkative, or moving objects. Spirits are commonly encountered during building renovations or construction. 

Demons, on the other hand, are a distinct and malevolent category. They are considered fallen angels according to Judeo-Christian beliefs and were never human. While paranormal teams occasionally claim to communicate with demons, it is rare to stumble upon a demon during an investigation. Demons are typically summoned intentionally. 

Popular demonic attributes include scratches in groups of three, growling, possession, and the smell of sulphur. However, encountering a demon during a ghost hunt is highly unlikely unless deliberate summoning has taken place. If you are still worried, it’s always worth knowing a demonologist.
